Hi! I tried to make these today with my daughter and the dough wouldn't hold together...I kept adding cinnamon and then applesauce but I couldn't seem to get it to be the right consistency. Any suggestions? It smells so good! I might have to just leave the crumbles out in a bowl and hope no one eats them!

Oh, those are wonderful; I can't wait to make some! Those would be great year-round, too, with that yummy aroma!

I made these (along with dried orange slices) for the tree on the front porch this years. Would you believe I still have a few left that I made in the late 1990's?

However, I love the way yours look so much better. I think it is the addition of the glue that makes them smoother. Will have to try that.

Hi, I'm a graduated homeschooler who lives in Indiana. My sister found your blog through another homeschool blog. Your photographs are gorgeous! I'm wanting to buy a really nice camera, but there are so many different options. Do you mind if I ask what kind of camera you use?

Thanks!

Mrs. Weathers,
We just used plain, white Elmer's glue. I hope you and your dear daughters enjoy making them!

Emily Ruth,
The Cinnamon Ornaments last a good, long while. As long as they are stored in a dry place they can last for several years.

these are so much fun...to "refresh" them...take an emery board or fine sandpaper to the reverse side, and they will continue to offer a wonderful scent for a very long time....
