This morning Breezy and I picked strawberries from our strawberry patch.

The pickings almost filled to large colanders.

There were berries that didn’t look quite like the rest, but they still taste delicious!

God created such beautiful foods for us to enjoy!

What kind of strawberries do you grow? We grow Cavendish. They have wonderful flavor, but they can get a bit misshapen.

Making jam is a delightful job. And so is making strawberry shortcake…

    Lovely photos, btw.

We don’t have that many…but we just got our patch planted last year.

Oh, Strawberry Jam sounds absolutely scrumptious! If only we had some “strawbees”.

Have a very bright, very cheerful day!

We used to have strawberries, but we didn’t plant them this year. :( Not only do they taste good, but they look good! What great and brilliant colors! I love that red.

So pretty! Did you put net over yours? I planted my first strawberries this spring and they’e just gotten to the red juicy stage (the whole 2 of them) – only to discover that something has taken a nibble already!

All of my strawberries were wiped out over the winter. I am going to have to investigate what went wrong. I just posted a yummy strawberry pie recipe, but it sure would have been nice to pick them in my backyard, instead of picking them in someone else’s. These are beautiful pics. thanks for sharing. :)

What beautiful berries and photos! Reminds me of my childhood when I went to my grandpa’s house to pick berries in the summer. I miss him and those days!

I really enjoy your blog. I discovered it yesterday from your comment on The Pioneer Woman’s site. I am interested in blogging and have been looking for the best place to start. I like your site and wondered if you had recommendations. My web designer was going to help me but has been so busy that it will be a while before he could work on it. I currently email about 500 people once a week and have done this for probably 2 1/2 years. I guess in essence I have been blogging but now I would like to do so in such a way that people can give feedback. I really appreciate any advice you are willing to share. Feel free to email me directly. Thanks!

OHHHHH!!! Now you got me craving strawberries!!! They look so wonderful! We usually eat our strawberries with a homemade dip using just cream cheese and marshmellow fluff. Its delicious!

What beautiful strawberries Emily Rose! Our family just went picking this week which I thoroughly enjoyed! I hope the jam-making went well. Putting up berries is one of the nicest jobs; its so nice thinking of how those berries will be enjoyed all year round!
Our family has one recipe for a frozen strawberry sauce we really enjoy… This recipe makes the berries taste fresh all year round!

Here’s the URL for the recipe:

And as always, your photos are wonderful… they look very cheerful and summery. :)

    Have a lovely day!
