Such a great shot. It tells quite a story.

It was so inspiring and surreal placing all of those flags upon the graves. I tried my best, as I passed each grave to imagine the sights and horrors they each had to face during service, the childhood they enjoyed, and the loves the left behind to defend our homeland.

It is a pity that they are taking down the flags today, for they should be remembered everyday and not just one weekend.

I was trying to find a single word to describe that photo, and I came up with “haunting”. I don’t know if it fits or not…

I have a great respect for all those who fought and died for our country, and those who survied, including my grandfather and great-grandfather.

I wish they left the flags up all year.

It would be very interesting to know the stories behind all of those men.

According to my Ravelry account, it took me about a month to knit my vest, but that is partly because I had to knit a baby blanket before I finished it. So, it was set aside for a while. When we read aloud, or sometimes when we watch movies, I knit, but I also listen to stories on my mp3 player while I knit or crochet. I love handcrafts!

Have a very bright, very cheerful day!
