Two years ago today, Mrs. Chancey hosted the Christian Homemakers Online Conference where women all over the nation were able to hear and interact with the speakers all in their own living room. This was the first online conference that we attended.

During the conference, I was able to “meet” and chat with a young lady named Rebecca who was also a stay-at-home daughter. After the conference we emailed back and forth, keeping up with one another and encouraging each other in our walks with the Lord.

For two years we have written each other, and have become dear friends. Last month at the Christians at the Crossroads conference our families were able to meet in person for the first time!

Then, just two weeks ago we had the wonderful opportunity to host them for the weekend! There was a Men’s Leadership Summit in Indianapolis the 5th-7th, so while the men were at the conference the ladies stayed with us.

Rebecca, Mrs. T, and Rachel.

Tracing the pattern (this was a posed shot so that everyone got there hand in the picture).

Momma showed the girls how to copy a pattern (using Mrs. Chancey’s Edwardian Apron for the example) onto pattern interfacing, a skill we have found very helpful that saves both time and money. There was also a live Pizza Tutorial.

Breezy showed them how to do there hair in lovely do’s (and I do mean lovely!) and I gave them a lesson on blogging and image-editing programs

Most of our time together was spent talking — a refreshing, encouraging, inspiring, and uplifting pass time that was enjoyed by all!

The conference ended Saturday afternoon, and our fathers and their brothers came back to our house and stayed the night. The next morning we all went to church together, and afterwords we talked for a couple more hours and then it was time for them to go. It was a sad goodbye, but I was so glad that they were able to come!

It was wonderful to be around other young ladies who find joy in being and dressing feminine and serving the family that the Lord has blessed them with. I am thankful to have such sweet friends as the T’s, they have been such a blessing to all of us!

How encouraging! It is such a blessing to meet other like minded Christian ladies…and I constantly pray for more such meetings and gatherings…for it is sort of a rare blessing to our family.

You are truly blessed to know such biblical families.

Found your “pingback” in my website and was tickled to read your post! So glad you got a tutorial in tracing patterns onto interfacing. It is so much easier to use interfacing than paper! It sticks nicely to most fabrics, almost completely eliminating the need for pins, and it’s very hard to tear or ruin. I love having sturdy master patterns in interfacing. :-) Have fun with all your endeavors — sounds like a wonderful visit!

I really enjoyed seeing the 3rd photo, as well!
    Thanks for posting, Emily Rose!

How sweet! I love the photo of you four peeking out from the trees!
I was wondering if you have any ideas or tips on how to store bookmarks. I have a lot of bookmarks and they always seem to be in the way when I’m not using them. Please give me your advice! Thanks so much!
    Have a nice day,

Oooh, it sounds like so much fun! That online conference also sounds intriguing, is there somewhere where I could get more info on that?
I also like to find lovely ways to do my hair, but I’m not terrible successful, in my opinion. :)

Have a very bright, very cheerful day!
