A few days ago, Momma began to read aloud The Princess Adelina: An Ancient Christian Tale of Beauty and Bravery. I wanted to make something productive with my hands while she read, so I picked up crocheting again.
The last real crocheted projects I made were a couple of baby blankets (one for a friend, one for my future little ones which is stored in my hope chest) about three years ago.
It feels so good to have yarn and a crochet hook in my hands — like an old friend who has come back to stay!
The above is my current project: a door warmer — which is used to keep the cold air from coming in beneath the door. It will reside in our kitchen, the green should go well in there.
Right now it is about eighteen inches long with a two inch diameter. I still has quite a ways to go, and might even add a few crocheted flowers for extra beauty.
Do you have any projects you are currently working on?

How fun!! After many months I also picked up my crocheting again! I just posted about it

I also started tatting (also on my recent post). I have always thought that it was hard, but is not!! I love it! Come check it out on my blog. :)

Hi Emily Rose! That sounds like a great project! I am not working on anything at the moment because I am working on teaching a knitting class so I have been busy with that (and blogging of course!). I do want to make some crocheted towels though that I found a pattern for on http://www.lionbrand.com that look excellent! I will put them in my hopechest when I finish!
I looooove the feel of having a project in my hands and can’t stand to go too long without one! =:) So glad you could pick it back up again! Hope your family enjoys The Princess Adelina, I certainly did!
Blessings!
Rachel
Oh, isn’t it so cozy to knit or crochet during the cold weather? I need to find something to knit!
Mommy bought me the book “The Princess Adelina” for Christmas. I loved it so much and am now loaning it to a friend of mine. Maybe we could each do a review on it when we’re finished and get each other’s take on it!

That’s so neat…I’d love to know how to make one of those. Our house gets so drafty!
I’m Knitting a hat on my “Nifty Knitter” loom. I just finished crocheting two dish-rags, and now I am working on my mending. :)
Love ya,
Marie :)
No, I don’t and I can’t crochet or knit very well. Though Rachel is something.
Love that colour. :)
That is a terrific idea! Wish I could remember how to crochet – my back door is in desperate need of a draft-stopper. I’m currently knitting a scarf for myself before it warms up again, and dishcloths for a friend who just moved into her first house!
Hi there!
Ooooh! Everytime someone begins to talk about crocheting, knitting, and/or tatting, I get so excited!
A draft dodger is a great idea, and yours looks really neat. I love the color of green. I’m not sure that we have any doors that need a draft dodger, though.
Right now I am working on knitting a bag. I mention it in my recent post, and plan on posting pictures when I am done with it. I almost always knitting or crocheting while we read aloud. That is, when I’m not the one reading!
Have a very bright, very cheerful day!

Hi Emily Rose!
The “door warmer” project sounds like a great idea! Thanks so much for having a blog for young ladies encouraging them in their walk with the Lord! Thanks! Can’t wait to see more posts!

What a neat idea! I can knit, and this summer I learned to crochet (although if I started back up again I might need some pointers!) Your blog is awesome – it’s great that you post often! God bless!
Lately I’ve been wanting to learn to crochet. I’m sure it wouldn’t take much persuasion to get my mom to teach me. :)
Though I did just finish knitting a blanket for my friend for her birthday. That was quite the undertaking! I’ve never knit anything that large before.
I believe the tree was indeed real…I think it says it in the commentary. I wish I had that tree in my back yard…it would be great for the imagination. :)
How fun! Crocheting is very addictive when one has a project and a pattern. Right now I am making three of four hot pads for the kitchen….so difficult ;)
Thank you for your comment…and prayers!! I don’t know how long the cough lasts…I have heard a month or two.(?) :O Just love your pictures!!! :)
Have a great week!

what a wonderful idea for a crochet project. Lately I have been crocheting scarves like mad for christmas gifts and finished that before christmas and did one for a christmas present for a friend that was late also. Now I am actually tunisian crocheting one for myself. Unisian crochet is a combo of knitting and crochet. I like it a lot! I can’t knit but I can do this and it looks just as good. I will have to try this project for my dad to put in front of the fire place in his study. Lots of cold air comes in and he freezes. It would look a lot nicer than a blanket stuffed there.
Hi Emily Rose!
You’ve been awarded! See my blog for details. :)
Blessings!

Hope you feel better SOON!!! :( :( :(
What a great crochet project!
I’m waiting for my older sister to pick out a hat pattern, so I can knit her one – before it’s too warm again!
Hi Emily!
Can you send me the pattern for the door warmer? I’d like to make some for my dad. Thank you!
Michelle, thank you for asking! I actually did not make a pattern, but rather made it up as I went. I do wish I had a pattern made so that I could send it! Hopefully, though, you will be able to figure it out! Or you may consider making a fabric one, which would be very simple to create . . . just an idea. Blessings, Emily Rose
