A Homemade Christmas – #5 – Purses

A gift for the ladies.
This purse is simple to make, and is a lovely accent to any lady’s wardrobe. I based it off a pattern from the book Bend-the-Rules Sewing (we checked it out at our wonderful local library). I must say that I adore corduroy. Working with it, feeling it, seeing it. It is just cute material! For some reason, I never used to like it, but it is now my favorite.
The interior is a cotton fabric with light blue, green, and mauve whimsical flowers in straight rows on top of a solid tan background.
The handle stays inside these (one on each side at the top).
The bow adds extra beauty. This bag was very enjoyable to make, and easier than I thought it would be. I plan on making more, and playing around with the pattern to come up with a few different sizes.

Well I think that is just the cutest purse I have ever seen! When you say easy, just how easy? I am a verrrry beginner but would love to make something like that! I can’t decide which is my favorite, the green corduroy, the inside fabric or the bow, and I love how it dips down in the front…

That is such an adorable purse!! I am a purse fanatic and this is one of the cutest I have seen. I really enjoy the Homemade Christmas thing. Its great when your trying to pinch pennies. Your great at photography. I am just starting to get into it. And you have given me some great ideas for my pictures.

I got connected to your blog by way of another blog my friend visits and I have really enjoyed it. Anyway, I wanted to say if you were selling this purse or others like it on Etsy, I would definitely be buying a few for Christmas gifts. I like to buy homemade and I am trying to make homemade gifts this year but I don’t sew. I am making a recipe book for my best friend inspired by your post. She has asked for my recipes for a while now.

Hi I love that purse I just love the holiday season! I have been buying mugs filling them with tissue paper and then sticking 2 candy canes in the side and then putting a hot cocoa packet in there, I just wanted to share the cute idea!

um…..I really do love EVERYTHING about this season. What really makes me look forward to this time of year is the feeling of acceptance, happiness, and togetherness you (usually) feel from everyone around this time.
