5 July 2007

As we stepped out of our car, I could feel that we were going to have a magnificent day! My family and I had arrived at my momma’s sister’s house, being their annual 4th of July cookout, I was quite over joyed.

They have family and friends over at their home for food fellowship and games. And of course, you get the chance of meeting new people–and I’m a people person. It was great fun.

My sister Breezy and I said farewell to our parents, for we were going to stay the night, Daddy saying a prayer with us before they departed.

We slept well–being beakoned to arise in the morning by Foggy, one of their roosters. After a delicious breakfast of pancakes, Lou took Maggie to her piano lesson.

Later we all watched some Road to Avonleas and then played a few games of croquet, sometimes in the shade, and sometimes in the sun. Of course, when we finished each game we enjoy using the mallets as bats for our balls. :)

Brrrroommm . . . Aunt Lou had started the car–for it was time to leave. All packed and ready to go, we pulled out of the drive. Having the windows rolled down and having lots of nice breeze come in was quite refreshing. Once home, Maggs stayed here while Lou and Momma went to a quilting class.

Once they returned, Lou and Maggie left. It had to come sooner or later.

I believe we all had a wonderful Independence Day(and day after)!
